The Moment I Saw Myself Through My Son’s Eyes

The Moment I Saw Myself Through My Son’s Eyes

It was one of those ordinary nights.

I was rushing around, cleaning up dinner, answering messages, and Bentley just stopped me mid-chaos.

He said, “Mum, you’re the best person I know.”

I laughed, like we always do when our kids say sweet things, but he didn’t.

He looked straight at me and said, “I mean it mum you make me feel safe.”

And I swear, my whole heart stopped.

Because to him, I’m not the mum who forgets things or runs late or burns dinner sometimes.

I’m just his safe place.

And that means everything.

We’re so busy trying to be better that we forget we’re already enough.

We think they see our flaws.

But what they really see is our love.

That was the night I started seeing myself through his eyes.

Not as the mum who’s constantly catching up, but as the mum who’s always there.

🩵 To the mums who doubt themselves:

You are already someone’s home.

And that’s everything.
