There was a time I said it constantly.
I’m fine.
I’m good.
All okay.
It rolled off my tongue before I even knew what I felt.
But inside, I wasn’t fine.
I was overwhelmed, exhausted, and scared that admitting it would make me weak.
We all do it, don’t we
We say we’re fine because it feels easier than explaining the truth.
Because we don’t want to bother anyone.
Because we’ve learned to wear strength like a uniform.
But strength isn’t silence.
Strength is honesty.
It’s being brave enough to say, I’m not okay today, but I’m trying.
The moment I stopped saying I’m fine, things changed.
People met me where I was.
They helped.
They listened.
You don’t have to have it all together.
You just have to tell the truth about where you are.
🩵 From one recovering I’m fine mum to another:
You’re allowed to feel it all.
That’s what makes you real.
